Turkish Map Fold<\/strong>
This way of designing paper was originally developed to fold maps. A single sheet of paper is folded in such a way that the entire sheet can be seen when it is opened. Protected between two covers, the now small maps can be easily transported in a space-saving manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshop<\/strong> (no previous knowledge required; languages: German and English)
This elegant way of folding paper is ideal for creating artist’s books. The origami structure is surprising because its inner shapes cannot be guessed from the outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One folded sheet between self-designed covers can be enough for an artist’s book. However, you can join several of these folds together to create a larger book. Which option you choose depends on your chosen theme and the materials that are to “decorate” the folded sheets. However, simply adding several folds in different colours can have a very nice effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This book shape can also be used in so many different ways. Whether as an interesting paper sculpture, guest book, diary – play with it and find your favourite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the workshop<\/strong> is for you to create a handmade book measuring approx. 15 x 11.5 cm or 11.5 x 15 cm during the workshop and take it home with you at the end. You will learn how to shape and design paper creatively together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What:<\/strong>
We will create an artist book with Turkish Map Fold so that you can take your finished book home with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What else:<\/strong>
If you would like to use existing materials, please bring them with you in printed form to match the format of the book (portrait or landscape format). Of course, you can also cut collages from larger pieces of paper and put them together. Together we will then find out which form of leporello best suits your material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
