Lost Places

Places are abandoned to the passage of time for reasons of disinterest, cost and/or political considerations. Torn from the context of their original use, they still bear traces of what they were once built for. Abandoned, forgotten, the buildings on such sites fall into disrepair – and their ruins form a space where something new becomes possible.

It is not only nature that takes over such spaces. As long as they are accessible to the public, they offer scope for fantasies, explorations, stories, documentaries, installations, performances, dance and much more.

We are interested in traces that carry past, present and future within them. In short: we are interested in fractals.

Unfortunately, more and more of these spaces are being fenced off and locked up – and are thus actually being lost.

Lost Places I “Hello”

With “Hallo”, a performance by Marlen Wagner (German language only), Fraktalwerk Projektraum presents a new long-term project: Lost Places.
