Gesture and Dynamics

Dance Workshop led by dancer, choreographer, and contemporary dance teacher Libertad Esmeralda Iocco.

Where does gesture arise? What is its intention, its emotion, its breath? Can gesture be the driving force of dance? What texture does movement have? How does your presence change when you listen to the group?

The invitation is to immerse ourselves in a space of exploration and training aimed at intermediate–advanced students who wish to deepen their body awareness, expand their dance language, and challenge their physical and expressive limits.

Libertad Esmeralda Iocco is a contemporary and tango dancer, choreographer, and Argentine teacher based in Berlin.

She trained at the Escuela de Danzas Clásicas de La Plata (Argentina) and at DART (Germany) and works between contemporary dance, tango, improvisation, and interdisciplinary performance. In 2021 she received the DIS-TANZ-SOLO grant to create her participatory project Entanglements.

Her research in dance is based on dance theatre, gesture work, and social themes that emerge in interpersonal relationships and everyday life.
